Introduction of Chemistry:
Chemistry is a branch of Science that deals with the identification of the substances of which matter is composed, the investigation of their properties and the ways in which they interact, combine and change and the use of these processes to form new substances. The main branches of Chemistry are Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry and Physical Chemistry.
About Department:
The Department of Chemistry of Government General Degree College, Keshiary, started functioning in 2016 under the affiliation of the Vidyasagar University. Presently the department is engaged in teaching Chemistry GE (CBCS) and Chemistry General (CBCS). At present three teachers are fully devoted and committed to their duties and responsibilities. Besides teaching, they are actively engaged in research work and have published several research papers in reputed peer reviewed Journals and also published several Book Chapters. One major Project under DST (SERB) is ongoing and another major Project under DST (SERB) is completed in 2018. The teachers work hard to improve their own performance and also to infuse their students with dynamism. The Department ensures a good deal of faculty-student interaction and academic flexibility.The main objective of the department is not only to give lectures and conduct seminars but to ensure the multifaceted development of the student’s personality and to build them up for the future challenges.The department is enriched with a well-equipped laboratory, many instruments a rich collection of books.
